Mike Cross was born in Detroit and is the original guitarist and founding member of Loudhouse, an alternative rock band. The group released a single album entitled "For Crying Out Loud" on Virgin Records, before dissolving three of the members of the band evolved into the band Sponge, along with his brother Tim Cross.
Mike Cross is original founding guitarist of the rock band Sponge, who ruled the alternative rock scene anairwaves in the 90s. As a co-writer for Sponge's platinum selling album Rotting Piñata, the sophomore album Wax Ecstatic and third release New Pop Sunday, Cross helped catapult the band into rock star status with his catchy hooks, iconic crunchy guitar and undeniable original sound.
Now as the lead vocalist and guitarist for
MC Roads, Mike Cross has created a unique, guitar driven and melodic sound that encapsulates an incredible mix of new and classic style songs. The debut effort from MC Roads entitled "No Nostalgia", has already received rave reviews with its originality and Detroit rock grit, and is slated for a worldwide release on Golden Robot Records in 2021.
